Northumberland is known as the most tranquil county in England and often referred to as 'England's best kept secret'. This could also be used to describe Fenton Hill which is certainly a haven of peace and tranquillity that is enjoyed by so many. From our Northumberland cottage you can drive to the 100mile long Northumberland coast in under 30minutes, the coast is mostly a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty. Much of Northumberland's Heritage coastline is unpopulated with mile after mile of sands and an unequalled sense of freedom which is a treat for those with dogs, and quaint fishing villages such as Craster with its famous kippers and popular crab sandwiches are a real delight. The Farne Islands lying off the coast at Seahouses is home to over twenty species of breeding sea birds and a large colony of grey seals. Boat Trips go out from here every day during the main season.
