Hugh and Margaret Logan have provided Northumberland self-catering farm cottage accommodation at Fenton Hill Farm for over 20years. They provide exceptional hospitality with a warm welcome, living in the farmhouse close to the cottages they are close at hand to ensure the comfort of their guests and that a high standard is maintained.
The Logan family have farmed on Fenton Estate which is owned by the Lambton family for four generations. Hugh is a Tennant farmer at Fenton Hill which is a working farm that is mainly arable growing wheat, barley, oats and oil seed rape which make a patchwork of colour in the fields surrounding the farm, there is also a beef cattle enterprise and a herd of suckler cows and calves in the farm buildings and nearby fields. In recent years Hugh has had less to do with the day to day running of the farm which is now run on a contracting basis; this has enabled him to have more involvement with the cottage business as it has expanded. His main role where the cottages are concerned is maintenance and upkeep and enjoys welcoming and chatting with guests.
Margaret manages the Northumberland self-catering cottage business handling all of the administration including bookings and enquiries. She has a lot of experience having been very involved and taken a keen interest in tourism for many years. Margaret will make sure that everything is ‘just right’ for your arrival.
Hugh and Margaret will make every effort to ensure that your stay is enjoyable. For them little things are important such as lighting fires making the cottages warm and welcoming in winter, filling bird feeders with nuts and seeds or leaving a welcome tea tray with home baked Heatherslaw biscuits for your arrival.
